5 Reasons Why Belgian Beers Are Considered The Best In The World
April 30, 2008
Belgium and its beers are unseperatable. The Belgian beers are treated as the most special in the world winning a lot of rewards and contests.
Instead of relying on beer specialists like Michael Jackson (not the singer!), why don’t you find out for yourself? We’ll tell you the five main reasons why Belgian beers are so renown.
400 different beers… no single country does better, and certainly not a single country with only 350 square kilometers! Belgium has more than one beer for each day of the year. Now that’s something special.
Belgium has a sophisicated beer culture: beer is not treated like a regular drink, but with a lot of care. The Belgians poor it in its own specially branded glass for you, on the right temperature and with the perfect head.
Then there is the amount of places where you find good beers. Every supermarket, restaurant, night shop and club has a nice selection of basic beers and specialty beers.
Beer as a product is much more complicated than wine. The number of ingredients used in beer are far higher than those used in wine and therefor beer is more sofisticated, every beer specialist will tell you that.
In Belgium we give our beers up to three fermentations: the normal one, one in a barrel and one in the bottle. These beers have a very high alcohol volume. The Bush Amber of brewery Dubuisson has nothing less than 12% alcohol!
Of course there are many more reasons, these are just the main ones. If you would like to know more about it, then you should visit the beer section on our blog about Belgium.
