Today’s Palm is much more advanced than the old pocket computer. There are even palm software like games, and listen to music is no problem. The Palm Pilot has come a long way since the start, today it works like a mini PC with the functionality of a regular PC. You can browse the internet, send emails, organize your life and your files.
The Smartphone is a combo of a regular PDA and a cell phone. In the latest product line Palm Centro, Palm introduces their new Smartphone which is miles away from the old PalmPilot when it comes to power and features. Palm’s pocket computers handhelds has support to run Palm OS as well as Windows Mobile and with the latest hardware and operating systems like Window Mobile version 6, they are now actually Smartphones and not PDA’s any more.
The old PDA are in fact losing market share and now all the manufacturers have to keep up and get into the Smarphone development, there is just no slowing down in the evolvement of technology.
Even if you already have a cell phone, the PDA can still be used for its scheduling capabilities; however, once you have fully mastered the PDA, you’ll never want to go back to a paper planner again.
