Acer Putters - A Good Choice for Anyone

October 26, 2008

Owning your own set of golf clubs is a must if you are a diehard golfer. After all, working with your own set of clubs each and every time you head out to the course will strengthen your golf game. Yet it really isn’t a great idea to buy a set of clubs from your local sporting goods store-not when customized clubs can be made for you. The golf clubs you see for sale at local stores are mass produced and are typically sized the same. They are generally made for men and women who are of average size in height and weight and who have average strength. Unless you fit the manufacturer’s definition of ‘average’ (and who does?), these clubs will not work well for you. Instead, look into getting clubs custom made for you. Start with your putter-many golf professionals recommend Acer putters. This brand is highly recommended because Acers are some of the most technologically advanced in the component industry. Acer uses computer aided design (CAD) software to develop their plans. Plus, since the United States Golf Association (USGA) changed a rule about how putters can be shaped (the face doesn’t need to be larger than the front-to-back measurement), Acer putters are made with a different shape to them. This helps to make them more precise and straight. Acer putters are available in five different models. They all can be custom assembled, and each can help your game significantly. These models each have different features: Acer CB2: These Acer putters have very high inertia due to the way the weight is distributed to the outer part of the head. The face and center of this model are more lightweight, though, as the face is made of milled aluminum. Accuracy is impressive in this two-piece Acer.

Acer CB3: This Acer truly takes advantage of the USGA rules change about shape and design because its concept was a reverse engineering of the traditional putter shape. Acer reduced the material in the face (which now measures 2 2/3″) and redistributed it into the corners. The head is made from stainless steel with a black aluminum insert. The result is that these Acer putters greatly reduce twisting.

Acer CB4: Inertia is maximized with these Acer putters because the rear is wider than the face. Additionally, this model is more customizable than most people could ever imagine-there are actually 36 custom options via the screws that are used to fine-tune the balance and the weight.

Acer CB5: These Acer putters are a mallet type; however, they are more condensed from back to front than most other mallet types. Like some of the other Acers, this model also has a high moment of impact; in this case it is because of the weight in the rear corners. The result of the weight distribution is less backspin for a more precise putt.

Acer CB6: A cross between a blade type and a mallet type, these Acer putters give golfers a good deal of accuracy and inertia. This is due to the way that they use the perimeter wings to hold the weight. Considering that about 40% of any golf game is spent on the green, it is important to own a quality club that will give you good performance on the green. Any of the Acer putters can definitely do just that. A popular golf magazine recently published information from a study that was done to compare various aspects from different golf clubs, including Acer putters. The Acer putters beat out all of the competition-especially when it came to the moment of inertia testing. This means that of all the clubs tested, the Acers were regularly the most accurate. Now, you will still need to practice in order to get your golf game up to par; however, using an Acer can definitely help you get there much more easily.
