Types Of Natural Fabrics And Their Properties
December 3, 2007
Natural fabrics are derived from the fibres of animal coats, plant seeds, stems and leaves, and silkworm cocoons. They are soft and breathable and UV light does not cause discoloration. Coir is a natural fabric which is obtained from the fibrous husk of a coconut. It is stress resistant, bio-degradable and buoyant. Coir is used to make sacking, twine, doormats and items such as bags and ropes. Coir can also be used in construction and to improve clays. It is a good fabric to control soil erosion. Cotton... One example of a synthetic textile is acetate, which is made from the cellulose resulting from the deconstruction of wood pulp or cotton. Acetate is soft and silky and drapes... Read more »

December 3, 2007
Ordinance has the right idea, but the wrong cartridge. It looks like they’re trying to replace both the 5.56 and the 7.62 with the SOCOR 6.8mm. I think for a light, crew served weapon they should go back to the full 30.06 machine gun and get rid of the .308 entirely. In a previous discussion I indicated that the .257 would be a good replacement for the .223. I’ve been researching it further, and it looks like a 6mm (.243) “secant ogive” of 87 grains would give the best results.... Read more »
