Guaranteed Social Security Benefits: Make It So
June 16, 2008
The comically complicated PSA (Personal Savings Account) legislation bouncing around Congress will raise taxes, increase investment risk, and expand the size of government. Let’s stop applying Band-Aids to spouting arteries. We are looking for a guaranteed retirement benefit program, and organizations capable of providing one. Additionally, we want the new program to reduce taxes, create jobs, boost the economy, cut prices, and increase salaries. Difficult? Not really. This is the conceptual... Read more »
Obama Fallacy Will Open Gates of Hell in The Middle East
June 12, 2008
Hamas is waiting, and hoping, for an Obama victory in November. During the Doha Debates (BBC, May 27, 2008), leading Hamas spokesman Mahmoud Al Zahar categorically implied that the only way out of the current impasse in the Gaza strip would be a neutral and balanced administration in Washington. Senator Obama can claim that he rejects any endorsement by Hamas; that, however, is not the point. The first relevant question Americans have to ask themselves is this: why are the worst religious extremists in the Middle East waiting for President Obama? Hamas waiting is not alone in waiting for John McCain to decisively falter. Hezbollah controlled television and radio outlets... Read more »
The Amazing Power Of Print
June 11, 2008
For centuries the printed word has been able to sway people one way or another in many cases all because of what they read. When there is a headline printed people pay attention. They usually automatically assume that if it makes the front page of the newspaper that it must be true. In the majority of cases it will be at least partially correct. Newspaper print especially can create a stir by whatever is printed in it. Newspapers have brought the news of wars began and wars that have ended. Newspapers will detail the deaths of someone famous or important.... Read more »
Greek Fire - A Terrifying Early Medieval Weapon
June 9, 2008
Greek Fire, also known as Byzantine Fire, Greek Byzantine Fire, and Sea Fire, was a terrifying naval weapon mastered by the Greeks and the Byzantines during early Medieval times. This may be the earliest form of naval napalm, and allowed their ships to fight with fire, with some claims that there was so much fire that it seemed like they could light the water itself. The Byzantines usually used it in naval battles to great effect, and their opponents’... Read more »
An Impressive Bed and Breakfast Guest Register
June 6, 2008

Why I am Running for President: Special Victims Unit
May 30, 2008
When presidential candidates are asked why they are running they invariably say something like “I’m bursting with so much love for this great country and its people that running for President is the only patriotic thing to do″. These candidates are also quick to assure us that they do not simply love our country in the abstract, they love each and every one of us personally. Of course our candidates are human (with the possible exceptions of Mitt Romney and Hillary Clinton), so they do tend to love some of us more than others. While sometimes I feel a little bit slighted by this, I am comforted by the fact that... Read more »

What Has France’s New President Done For The Country
May 25, 2008
This surely cannot be a good time for any new bod in government to try and prove himself? A recession is threatening the world over and all leaders are being held responsible but take a closer look. This has to be one of the hardest jobs on earth and we all need to remember that, although the buck stops firmly with the leaders, they are only human and we all need to do our bit. The Conservation Policies Of Presidential Candidates
May 25, 2008
We all know our Earth is in serious trouble. If there is one person who can really turn around things in our country it is the president. With elections round the corner and a line-up of presidential candidates, don’t all of us want to know who truly supports the green movement? Here’s a run down on the top candidates and their perspective of the environment: Hillary Clinton She has been known for citing serious environmental hazards in all of her speeches. However, it wasn’t until late 2007 that she actually drafted a comprehensive solution to the problem. This plan is essentially more like a cap trade mechanism which aims at reducing emissions by as much as 80%! A two-pronged approach... Read more »
