Different Ways To Say ‘I Do’
December 3, 2007
Unity candles are very big in the US, although it is unclear where it originates from - evidence indicates it may well be a far eastern tradition. It’s a symbol of uniting yourself and your husband as a couple and also uniting you as families. There are many different ways of incorporating a unity candle and as it has no ‘religious’ connection it shouldn’t interfere with anything. You don’t say if your parents are going to be there as it usually involves them as well... Read more »
How To Word Your Wedding Invitation
December 3, 2007
In cases when the bride and groom are issuing the invitation to a wedding, the names of both sets of parents are simply not included on the invitation. The reason that they are there in traditional invitations is twofold: for Christian weddings, the bride’s parents are traditionally the hosts of the wedding, a custom which comes from the old tradition of giving their daughter into the care of her husband. In the Jewish tradition, both the parents of the bride and the parents of the groom are... Read more »
How Clothes Look: Proper Under Garments Can Make All The Difference
December 3, 2007
The proper under garments can make all the difference in how your clothes look on you. In terms of panties, nothing is more unflattering than seeing panty lines under your slacks!! That’s especially true in the summer when you can get a double whammy…actually seeing through light white pants as well as having the textural bulge that some underpants give!! I am a huge fan of thongs! For some people they take some getting used to and some are more comfortable than others. You’ll... Read more »
Ideas On Creating Your Own Wedding Invitation Cards
December 3, 2007
You’ve had a great idea already, in having a calligrapher hand-write the invitations. Not only is this a beautiful and elegant way to have a small quantity of invitations produced, it’s relatively cost-effective. You might want to check your local area for calligraphers (the phone book, or wedding informational websites). Call them up, ask for pricing for 25 hand-written invitations, and ask to see samples. Most calligraphers are happy to send you samples of their work, so that you can... Read more »
Wedding Gowns, Color And Style Depends On Religion And Culture
December 3, 2007
A wedding dress or wedding gown is clothing worn by a bride during a wedding ceremony. Color, style and ceremonial importance of the gown depends on the religion and culture of the participants. In modern tradition, the color of western-culture wedding dresses is white. Used in this sense, ‘white’ or ‘wedding white’ includes creamy shades such as eggshell, ecru and ivory. The popularity of this color can be traced back to 1840 and the marriage of Queen Victoria to Albert of... Read more »
Save The Date Wedding Cards
December 3, 2007
A save the date is similar to an invitation and is mailed up to one year before the wedding date. Save the dates simply announce that the wedding date has been set and encourages recipients to plan for the event. It is not used as a substitute for the wedding invitation and typically mentions that an invitation will follow. Save the date cards are a fairly recent invention, so there is no standard for proper wording. The best approach to take is to decide what you want you’re save the date... Read more »
Collor Suggestions for Wedding Attendants
December 3, 2007
Colors like wine/creme, wine/champagne, and wine/gold are really nice colors to go with an October wedding. I think those color choices compliment each other beautifully, particularly the wine, gold, and champagne. Other colors to throw in there that would go nicely would be a deeper shade of copper and another lighter/darker red. Because it will be in the fall time of year, she could always coordinate oranges in there as well with flowers and centerpieces. September is a month where you can really... Read more »
Ideas For Colors Of Your Wedding
December 3, 2007
Here are some good ideas for September colors for your wedding. I love this one color that is a light green. I understand that this is not a fall color. The light green would go beautifully with a darker green or a darker red/orange. This would “ground” the color in a more summer-fall transitional theme. You could use three colors- the light green, a darker green (dark sage, hunter, etc), and pair it with a gold, yellow, burnt orange, or dark red for accents. This would be a monochromatic... More Colors To Think About For Your Wedding
December 3, 2007
Yellow and orange would be good colors. You want to use a yellow that is in the same intensity as the orange of the dresses. Burnt Orange sounds subdued. You are not going for a match with your dresses because that gives a very fake look. You want to coordinate the colors to go with the dresses. There are many flowers that are yellow. Actually, since you are using silk flowers … you can dye flowers yellow and or orange with fabric dye. So if you can get white silk flowers … you can get... Read more »
Wording Of Your Wedding Invitations
December 3, 2007
When it comes to your wedding invitations you will always want them to look there best no matter, but there are just some things that you will need help on. The only things I would recommend changing are as follows: removing the comma after Street in the reception location address, and moving “Saint Paul, Minnesota” down to the next line. In terms of the “together with their parents” line, placement depends upon who the hosts of the reception are; generally (and this is regardless... Read more »
