Compaq iPaq Pocket PC
August 9, 2008
It is a sad fact, but that computer and pieces of handhelds software you bought today will be replaced by a newer, faster, more capable model within a year’s time. It is just the way technology works and you should demand no less because it means more processing speed and memory for you. It means slimmer designs and better screen colors. One company that knows this fact is Hewlett Packard, which produces the Compaq iPAQ Pocket PCs.
One great example of technology moving forward is the Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC 3835.
The 3835 had the fastest StrongARM processor at 206 MHz and featured an expansion slot for additional capabilities to add software and hardware. It was a great palm pocket pc to own and use, but along came Hewlett-Packard’s buy out of Compaq and suddenly a new world of possibilities opened up. The 3900 series models featured a faster XScale processor and offered more available features and programming.
The biggest turn for Compaq/HP has come in the way of the pocket pc Smartphone.
As you know, technology never stops improving. Competitors force companies to come up with faster, better models as a way to keep pace with the demands of consumers who want bigger memory, faster processing speeds and slimmer designs. The Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC 3835 had to give way to the new 3900 series. Even that series is now becoming obsolete as Hewlett Packard continues to develop new technology.
It contains pc software similar to that found in desktop and laptop computers, but in versions of Pocket Outlook, Word and Excel. The 64 MB of RAM and 32 MB ROM was quite impressive to say the least and the 240 x 320 color screen beat out its competitor, the Palm, any day of the week.
This Smartphone is a great blend of the cell phone and pocket pc. As other companies have shown, more people want to combine their pocket PCs and their capabilities of making and receiving calls and turn it all into one amazing pocket pc phone. This does not even factor in the added advantages of getting a camcorder and camera, plus Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities.
