Design Your Own Feng Shui Bedroom
October 13, 2008
Many are interested in the art of feng shui because they are searching for a way to add energy and vitality to their lives, and want to do this in the most natural way possible. Others are looking for the opposite of energy; they want to feel calm and relaxed in their environment. Whatever your reasons for investigating this ancient art, there are a few simple tricks you can do to create a true feng shui bedroom for your own home.
#1 Tip to a Feng Shui Bedroom
The most important thing to do when adding feng shui elements to your bedroom is to ask yourself which kind of atmosphere you are trying to create. For instance, do you want to add spice and sexual energy to your bedroom? Or are you trying to make it a relaxing, warm place to encourage restful sleep.
When making up your mind on which changes would be appropriate to make your room into a feng shui bedroom, you need to decide exactly what the room needs and what you need yourself. These two atmospheres are polar opposites of one another and you don’t want to add vibrancy and spice to a room where you just want to get a good night’s sleep and wake up feeling refreshed. Nor do you want to create a relaxing, soothing atmosphere in a room where you want more sexual passion and energy to happen.
Feng Shui Bedroom Tip #2
The next thing to making a feng shui bedroom that will fit your needs is to remove everything that is not necessary from the room. This is your bedroom. Not a gym or a storage area. Get all the things out of your room that should not be there. Clutter is counter productive to achieving the room you want to have.
Take a look at any picture of any decorating magazine, and notice their rooms. How many are cluttered with all these excessive things? Obviously the answer is none of them.
Feng Shui Bedroom Tip #3
The use of color is so important in feng shui, and the bedroom is no exception. Bright, bold colors usher in energy, while dark and warm colors relax and calm you.
When you decide which type of room you are trying to create, you can select daring, bright colors or colors that will have a calming effect. Red is an energy color. Gray is a soothing color. No matter which you choose, do not get carried away and use too much of one color. This can actually work against what you are trying to achieve. Remember you are trying to set a mood, not overwhelm your bedroom with too much color.
So if you apply these three simple tips that weve given you, then you too can have a true feng shui bedroom that will either calm and soothe your jangled nerves, helping you get a good nights rest, or that will introduce some spice and energy to your life.
