Digital Photo Editing Software

August 7, 2008

Achieving the best photograph possible every time has become a reality thanks to digital technology. Even when you don’t capture the image you want with the camera, you can still create a perfect picture with digital photo editing. Many software programs are available that can salvage a photo that once would have been lost and make it spectacular.

Here is a list of some of the software types you can purchase for editing your digital photos:

Kodak EasyShare Freeware. This may be the most well known type of software it is easy to use with people who have just bought a new camera. My wife has this for her new Kodak digital camera.

Infran View. With this specific type of software you can change the tone of the graphics as well as the way it is taken and you can crop it how you like it. All these features come in one simple and free software program that I have found to be very simple and easy to use.

Image Force - This is another freeware program to edit your photos. A tool is provided that will transfer pictures from the digital camera to scanners. Enhancing features and other photo modifications can be performed with this program.

VCW Photo Editor - Offered as freeware, this program provides many of the basic features as most other programs allowing you to enhance and modify photos.

PhotoFilter - Although this program is simple in its appearance and limited in its features, its strengths are in its user interface and wide selection of image adjustment buttons, effects and filters.

Picture Shark - This is a fun and free program providing not only most of the editing features offered on other programs, but also the ability to “write” on your photos. You can add text, captions and even an autograph to pictures you are editing.

Picasa. This is a freeware from Google. This is most indeed the smart software. It will save your pictures according to size and your ability to name them. This will make it easy to locate the pictures when you need to edit them. You simply take the pictures that are saved on your computer and start editing them with Picasa by just dropping them in the editing area of the software.

Serif Photo Plus - This programs comes complete with many tools offered in other programs such as cropping, enhancing, slicing and many more.

ADG Panorama Version 5.0 - While this program offers the same editing functions, it also offers the ability to be able to edit 360 degrees around the photo you are working with.

This is only a short list of the many programs available but these are considered to be some of the best software for editing your digital photos. Sample one of the free programs available and try your hand at editing your own digital photos.
