Question: What should I wear while we are in Brazil?
When we go to the churches, we have a mandatory dress code. You may not wear a dress of any kind. Instead, you must wear a nice, attractive top (short-sleeved or long-sleeved shirts or blouses). You may not wear a sleeveless top or one with Spaghetti straps. Also, you must wear a loose skirt that is knee length or longer. In other words, it must be a skirt that stays at your knee or below when you sit. For shoes, you must wear nice, attractive dress shoes or dressy sandals.Nepal is conservative with clothes, and your reception by locals can vary greatly on the way you dress. Men should always wear a shirt (don’t go around bare chested) and long pants. In view of local customs, men should try not to wear shorts, and women should avoid them altogether.

Is there a dress code to be adhered to at the schools?
Yes, we ask that all teachers be properly dressed and act as professional as they can. For men: button-down shirt (short or long sleeved), trousers and shoes. Ties are optional and King’s ceremonial Yellow shirts are allowed. For women: knee-length shirt or trousers and unrevealing blouse and shoes. Teachers in Thailand do dress in a conservative manner, so please do the same.

What do choir members wear for the concert?
Classical Choirs: Women wear full/ankle length all black - either a long black dress with long sleeves, or a long-sleeved black blouse with a black skirt or smart black trousers, black tights (optional in the summer), black shoes. Women should have conservative make-up and jewellery. No white collars, coloured scarves etc. Oratorio and Chamber Choir men wear black dinner jackets and trousers, black shoes and socks.Nepal is conservative with clothes, and your reception by locals can vary greatly on the way you dress. What about clothes?
Lightweight cotton clothing is best for the climate in Thailand. Bring plenty of old clothes to work in as they are likely to get very dirty and often covered in paint! It is a good idea to bring lightweight trousers and long-sleeved tops for the evenings to keep mosquitoes at bay. During the monsoon season it is necessary to bring a raincoat and trousers and/or poncho, rubber boots/ trekking shoes, thick socks, long trousers and a warm jumper for the evenings.Classical Choirs: Women wear full/ankle length all black - either a long black dress with long sleeves, or a long-sleeved black blouse with a black skirt or smart black trousers, black tights (optional in the summer), black shoes.
