Gain Muscle Mass Fast With This Basic Information

January 28, 2008

No matter what purpose is behind your attempts to gain muscle mass fast, one thing you should understand first of all - no miracle is going to happen to your body. Six pack abs don’t appear overnight. And if you see somebody’s fantastic shape, just know that there is a lot of effort, will power and discipline attached to it.

Those who want to seriously consider bodybuilding have to recognize the role that nutrition plays in successfully growing desired body mass. A combination of healthy eating and exercise is what makes it possible to gain muscle mass fast. Forgetting the role that nutrition plays can completely cause one to backtrack on any progress in bodybuilding, and hurt the body. However, keeping track of one’s diet doesn’t have to be difficult when important considerations are always kept in mind.

1. Eat a well-balanced diet from four nutrient groups.

Incorporating a healthy diet in the process of trying to gain muscle mass fast requires some effort and thought. One can’t simply pick from a couple of food items that are believed to be healthy, and ignore others. Instead, a combination of carbohydrates, fats, fiber, and protein must be incorporated into one’s diet in their correct recommended portions. Each of these four nutrient groups plays an important role in the body, and as such, must be duly included in a healthy, well-balanced diet.

2. Large meals should be split up into smaller ones.

Three meals a day may be sufficient and seemingly healthy, but it is also not bad to spread these three meals to four to six meals a day instead. Spreading these three meals into much smaller yet more frequent meals will help speed up metabolism, which will help burn unwanted fat. Moreover, the feeling of hunger will less likely be felt in between meals, and the meals spread over the day will provide enough energy for workout anytime during the day. All these factors combine to help gain muscle mass fast.

3. Fresh and natural foods should be preferred over processed ones.

Processed food is usually layered with fats and preservatives that get stored as a layer of fat in the muscle. Luckily, healthier alternatives are available that taste as good (if not better) than processed food-like canned meat, chips, or microwave food-and are much healthier alternatives.

4. Get some variety in your protein

Protein, so essential to anybody who wants to gain muscle mass fast, should not be consumed in the form of meat only. In fact, eating meat all the time is quite unhealthy and can intoxicate your body pretty fast. Choose a variety of protein sources: lean red meat, poultry, eggs, fish, milk and diary products, and vegetables. Alternative forms of protein are also a must for any amateur or professional bodybuilder; they include whey protein, soy protein and casein protein among others.

5. Ensure sufficient fluid intake.

Water intake is something that is not usually recommended for those who want to gain muscle mass fast, as water can mask genuine muscle mass gain with just water bloating. However, sufficient hydration is important when a person wants to gain muscle mass fast, especially because bodybuilding requires tons of workout and exercise. The body being dehydrated, in fact, will cause the body processes-including burning fat during workout-to become slower than it should be.
