Orlando is one of the major cities of Florida, with an estimated population of about 185,951. According to the United States Census Bureau, Orlando occupies a total area of 261.5 kmイ (100.9 miイ). 242.2 kmイ (93.5 miイ) of land and 7.39% or 19.3 kmイ (7.5 miイ) of water. Orlando is generally assumed to have taken its name in 1836 from a soldier named Orlando Reeves who died during the war against the Seminole Indian tribe. Its relatively warm and humid climate is due to it situated at about 106 feet above sea level.

Orlando experiences two seasons annually. This seasons are the warm and cool seasons. The warm season is a combination of heat and rain which normally lasts from May until October. Come November until the month of March, rainfall becomes frequently less and temperature becomes cooler. Orlando is prone to wildfire hazards during its driest season on the months of December until May.

Tourist-wise, Orlando is considered one of the top vacation spots in the world. Walt Disney established the Walt Disney World Resort here in 1965. Aside from this, however, other famous attractions in Orlando include the Universal Orlando Resort and Sea World.
