Health Benefits of Using Back Massagers

June 17, 2008

How many people in the world today have used a back massager or other type of personal massager? Millions of people haven’t, and those people are missing out on the benefits that a massager can do for you, both emotionally and physically. These types of massagers have been around for decades, and yet very few households even own or routinely use these back massagers.

Back massagers are actually intricate machines, often carrying more than one motor to give the best massage possible to the user. These motors rotate in what’s called a “head,” which provides the vibrating sensation that’s pleasurable and relaxing to the user.

So, what can a good massage offer the user? A good back massager (or, any other type of personal massager for that matter) can relieve pain, bolster the immune system, reduce the possibility of depression, relieve tension built up from work or school, and most importantly, improve circulation to the affected area. Why is improved circulation so important? Mostly, greater circulation allows blood to flow more freely to more parts of your body, while bringing essential nutrients to all of your parts. This will also reduce your blood pressure and reduce any strain that might have been put on your circulatory system through an elevated blood pressure. Improved circulation has also been shown to decrease the amount of time it takes for the body to heal!

Another excellent reason for using a personal massager, though less well-known, is that an effective massage improves the flow of “lymph,” a bodily fluid that helps clean out toxins and other such pollutants that may be in your body. Helping improve the flow of lymph makes the user feel better by increasing the speed at which these toxins are removed from the body.

If you suffer from muscle spasms, a good massage will loosen up tight muscles and help reduce painful spasms that might have kept you off your feet. Many people who suffer from muscle spasms, especially back spasms, can greatly improve their quality of life through regular use of a personal back massager.

Do you slouch? If you do, then using a back massager may just help you improve your posture. Tight muscles often cause poor posture, and loosening those muscles, much in the way you would to reduce back spasms, may help you stand taller after a session. Used regularly, this may improve your posture in the long-term. Consult your doctor to ask more!

I hope that this article has shown you some excellent reasons to purchase and routinely use a back massager or other personal massage device.
