Newport Beach In Orange County

Located in the infamous Orange County, California, Newport Beach is known for its Balboa Peninsula and Harbor. As if being located in the well known Orange County wasn’t enough, the MTV show Newport Harbor: The Real Orange County, made the beach popular as well.

The intense and extreme waves of the Balboa Peninsula are famed for surfing. These waves are comparable to the waves of Hawaii, Tahiti, and Australia. These waves are partly caused by the rock jetties on the northern part of Newport Harbor in the 1930s. These huge waves should only be taken on by experienced surfers and swimmers.

Newport Beach’s most famous landmark is the Balboa Pavilion. It is a waterfront recreational center. They have fishing, arcades, and eating establishments.Balboa island is an artificial island created between 1908 and 1909. It has an established community on the island. It has the highest real estate rates in the United States, next only to Manhattan. Most residents on Balboa Island have their own boats or yachts. You can get from Balboa Peninsula to Balboa Island via The Balboa Island Ferry.

Another recreational facility available in Newport is the Newport Aquatic Center. They offer activities like canoeing, kayaking, rowing, and outrigger canoe competitions. Olympic water sport athletes come to Newport to train at the center.

Balboa Island has one of the most expensive places to live in California. The artificially created island was created between 1908 and 1909, just off the coast of Newport Beach. It boasts one of the highest real estate rates in the United States next only to Manhattan, New York. Balboa Island’s residents all have their own boats or yachts. Visitors to Balboa Island can get there through the Balboa Island Ferry.
