On Your Way To Growing Long Healthy Hair
May 21, 2008
As a woman, many dream of having long healthy hair flowing in the summer breeze. However, what most people fail to realize is that much more goes into it then simply letting it grow; you must be sure to keep up with the maintenance. Do not start to worry if you have already started to grow your hair out though because it is not an extremely difficult process.
Many people think that you have to pay regular visits to fancy salons and overload your hair with tons of overpriced vitamins, but this is simply untrue. All you truly need to have is common sense, patience and the dedication to stick with it and grow your hair out. You should concentrate more of your focus on things you should not do as opposed to things you should do. There are many steps that should be followed throughout the process of growing your hair out, but the most fundamental thing is: to grow healthy hair, you must start with healthy hair. Now you may be thinking that because your hair is dyed, chemically treated or damaged from the sun, that you do not stand a chance, but there is no need to get worked up. This just means that you must cut off every piece of damaged or unhealthy hair on your head before you can start the process of getting long healthy hair.
It is also very important to trim your hair fairly often. Any damaged part of your hair is going to be at the ends, so by trimming your hair regularly, you ensure that all the hair on your head is healthy hair. On average, you should trim your hair about one half inch every month to keep it healthy. If you want to invest a little more time in this part of the maintenance, there is one more thing you could do on your own at home. In between trims, if you sit in bright light you will be able to notice any split ends that you may have on the tips of your hair. Then, just by taking a small pair of scissors and snipping off the splits, you will be able to ensure your healthy hair maintenance at home as well.
If you hold these two steps as the foundation when growing out your hair, then you are sure to have long, beautiful and healthy hair in no time.
