Promotional Products: Using Promotional Apparel for Your Business

May 26, 2008

Ask anyone and they will tell you how much they love going somewhere and getting something for free. The promotional give-a-ways at sporting events are usually those relating to apparel such as hats, t-shirts and more.

Businesses that purchase apparel as promotional items will be greatly effective in marketing their products. Having their company name embossed on things like t-shirts and hats will give a lot of visual exposure to their business name or product.

A t-shirt is one of the most inexpensive and trendy promotional items on the market today. They are considered inexpensive because a company can buy the shirts in bulk, therefore saving money, from places like Fruit of the Loom and Hanes and then imprint their logo or company name.

You can get away with paying only about $5.00 per shirt. However, if you order several shirts at once then you purchase price per unit will go down.

If you were to look at many different people in public places, you would see how popular a monogrammed hat is, especially with the guys. The marketing opportunities are endless because wherever the person that is wearing the hat goes, he/she is actually providing your company with free advertising. Again, the hats are considered inexpensive. A basic style cap can be found to be under $5.00 per hat and monogrammed too.

A very unique concept for marketing and promotional items are those found in the kitchen. Oven mitts, aprons, and towels, all embossed with an organization’s logo are a reminder everyday of that particular company. A little trick to remember is to buy kitchen apparel that is attractive or appealing so that the item is not put in a drawer or cupboard and then forgotten.

One of the last types of apparel that I’ll mention here is athletic apparel. People who exercise often will need athletic apparel and if you give it away to them for free they will be very happy. All you have to do is put your company logo on the apparel and they will be a walking advertisement for you. You can put your logo or company name on headbands and wristbands. These are relatively cheap and will cost less than $2.00 a piece.

As you can see, there are many benefits for companies to use apparel as promotional products. They not only give your company a continuous stream of free advertising but your product or business name will be recognized everywhere. Maybe the next time somebody wants to buy a particular item it could be your company that they choose.
