Questioning Religion on the Web
July 29, 2008
Along with politics, you may have heard your mother refer to religion as an impolite conversation topic. People’s views on the subject vary greatly, yet they are equally passionate about those views. Thus, discussion on this topic usually turns into anything but a discussion.
If we have so much to say, and we are so passionate, why can’t we express ourselves? Can we go somewhere and open up? Can we learn from others?
A great place for this kind of expression is the web. Using an anonymous advice forum as the example, here’s why we believe the web is the perfect outlet for honest conversations on a topic like religion-
People who want to discuss, are drawn to free advice sites. A stranger approached about religion on the street would bristle. The average person isn’t prepared to discuss such personal topics. Finding people who want to talk, as opposed to forcing people, is the key here.
An anonymous advice site offers the freedom of anonymity to it’s users. When no one knows who you are,you don’t have to censor your views for the sake of political correctness. You can really express where you stand on a topic, and really get to know how others feel.
Anonymous advice sites list many different thoughts that can splinter into all new discussions. Instead of talking about one topic, you may be pulled into another entirely.
In order to expand one’s views, it only makes sense to expand your means for expressing them. This user has found free advice sites to be a perfect start. Hopefully we can discuss somewhere like the site we used below.
