Self Defense Tools Everyone Should Have

Getting attacked or robbed is going to put anyone’s day into a downward spiral. But thanks to technology ,there are some great products that can make even the most frightening robbery a cake walk. But because of the selection available, most consumers don’t know where to start or even what they are getting themselves into.
Pepper spray is a very popular type of self defense simply because it can be concealed quite easily and because it is so effective. The pepper spray will widen blood vessels in the eye- making the criminal close his or her eyes for a good 20-30 minutes- depending on how severe the spray was. They will also have trouble breathing and may experience a disabling burning sensation.
One of the more expensive types of self defense is the stun gun. Stun guns are well worth the money for those who don’t want to rely on pepper spray, or for those who want a more disabling effect. Stun guns will bring down even the most unruly criminals, no matter what their size or stature. A stun gun will even be able to shoot farther than most pepper spray solutions, so it can be used quickly and without delay.
Interestingly enough, we usually only see knives in the hands of criminals in the event of an attack. This isn’t because they aren’t lethal or even handy- but because most don’t have experience in handling a knife. But getting to learn how to use a knife is a vital skill in self defense- especially when considering that knives can be kept in smaller places where stun guns could not.
One can take a page from the police handbook by obtaining a hand baton. Batons are used since they are easily conceal, expand upon a flick of the wrist, and can be a very large deterrent in an attack. Batons are made to sting as much as they injure the victim of the blow. Of course this requires direct contact, so most batons are best suited for males who can wield them with a sense of confidence.
Air guns are another solution for consumers who want the power of a gun, but in a non-lethal force. Police commonly use air pistols and rifles to help bring riots under control and in other intense situations where lethal force is not a good idea. Air guns are harder to conceal, however, and will require practice to use correctly.

Security is a very important topic in today’s society- where cities are being roamed by criminals each day. Consider the previous tips and take them to heart to get the most out of one’s own life, security, and their overall physical and emotional well being.
