Several Important Tips to Help Cope With Moving Your Family
March 31, 2008
the first thing you must accomplish is hiring movers and transporting your cars. It can be so overwhelming trying to choose between the two ways of moving. Do you go with self moving and rent moving PODs or do you hire movers to do the job? It’s really very hard for everyone to feel part of something after a big move, especially if you are relocating to another country.
Finally you are prepared to move at your new home. Don’t forget to inform your close neighbor, friends and relatives. Give them your new address & name of landmark. After all you have spent some time with them and have different type of attachments with the people and place.
If you have the luxury of moving any time of the year try not to move during the summer months. Rates are generally much higher at that time. Prepare your move with a few essential items. Your carrying box should include Soap and shampoo Pouches, Painkillers, Specs and regular medicines, First Aid box, Scissors and knife, Power cords and batteries, Tissues and Towels, Tea and coffee maker, Disposable glasses, plastic bags and plate, Light bulbs, linens, Map of the new area etc.
Rearrange your goods carefully at new location starting from Kitchen, Bedroom, Restroom, and other places. Set kids room according to their preference and shortly because it’s important to give them comfort first. But before the moving company agent arrives at your home you should inspect the contents of your house from basement all the way up to the attic.
When reviewing moving expectations with your moving agent make sure you are very clear on specifics because this is the start to a well planned move. Plan a convenient time for you and an agent to come to your home and visually survey all the contents that will be moved so that you can get an actual estimate. Inform your kids on ways they can redecorate their new rooms.
You’re starting a whole new life, now is the time to try something totally different. There are a lot of decisions and commitments you need to make and consider thoroughly before actually moving and packing and then keep your fingers crossed that it all works out as planned.
I know for me and I’m sure you have heard them too, so many stories from friends and family members and their experiences with movers and how unsuspecting you can be to some details you probably would never consider.
