Just about every career advisory book will advise you to do this, although it is a surprising fact that only 5 percent of job seekers get around to writing one. Sending a thank you note after the interview is a simple but crucial task. Employers will be pleasantly surprised to receive your thank you note. The note is a form of courtesy that you can show towards your employer. You can set yourself apart from other candidates by just such a simple gesture. It also indicates that you are very much interested in the job.

Your chances of acquiring the job increase with a well written note, as it will impress the employer. Such a small gesture can make a huge difference and one that many people often forget to do. It shows that are determined to get the job.

Before sending your thank you note, check it carefully for any spelling mistakes or errors in grammar. Spelling mistakes may annoy the interviewer. If your interview was successful, a badly crafted note may still ruin your chances of obtaining the position. The note will also demonstrate your writing skills, so take great care when writing it. Ask someone to check over the note before sending it to the interviewer. If you do this, you can rectify any mistakes.
