The Causes of Premature Ejaculation

When ejaculation happens soon after the actual sexual intercourse, it is premature ejaculation. In fact, it may not be really a problem if it only happens once occasionally. However, it can be a problem if it happens nearly every time you make love.
Medically, there is no actual standard for the time from having intercourse to ejaculate. Some experts maintain that one to three minute(s) will not necessarily mean premature ejaculation. In most cases, premature ejaculation can be classified as either primary or secondary. For primary premature ejaculation, one will ejaculate once he has sexual activity. On the other hand, a secondary one means that a man ejaculate very soon after the actual intercourse.
Regarding the causes of the problem, it is believed that it can be due to psychological problems. For example, if a man used to try to reach orgasm in a very short period of time when he was young, he will probably have the problem of premature ejaculation later in his life. It may also happen if a boy was raised in a family teaching him that sex is a sin or something dirty. This is probably because the boy will develop a sense of guilt when they have sex. And this will make them try to rush when making love.
In order to prevent the problem, some men will need to take medicines everyday. On the other hand, some patients will need to take a small dose of medications before having sex. Usually it is three to four hours before making love. Of course the situation of every patient will be different and you will need to consult your family doctor if you think you have the problem of premature ejaculation.
If you do not want to take medicines, there is also an alternative. There are some kinds of cream and spray which can delay your ejaculation. This is done by reduce the sensitivity of the gentile. Usually one of the ingredients of this kind of cream or spray is called benzocaine. In some countries they can only be sold with prescriptions. Again, you have to check with your doctor to see if you are suitable to use this kind of cream or spray.
Besides, a piece of good news is that there is nearly no side effect when you take the medications or sprays. However, you may not really need medication in order to ease the problem. You should try to be relaxed when making love and this may greatly improve premature ejaculation.
