By the time you finish reading this, you may be considered an old time stamp collector or how I would like to call it: a stamp enthusiast. Most stamp enthusiasts have collect stamps as a hobby because they have been interested in them for a very long time. However, what you do not know about stamp collecting is that once you take a closer look at the stamp, in a snap, you’ll get interested.

However, what you do not know about stamp collecting is that it will entice you even if you have never thought of it before. The bright colours and fine print on the stamp are after hard to resist. There is something you have to know: Taking up a new hobby takes some guts. You may not know anything about stamp collecting, therefore, this is a guide where you can know everything you need to know about stamp collecting.

Taking up a new hobby may be very difficult for some but you have to know that stamp collecting is very special. However, it requires some patience. You need patience to collect the stamps and sometimes it takes years to perfect the art of stamp grading.

First, let me start you off by telling you about the tools you need. You need a place to store the stamp; therefore, I suggest you get an album or an archival stock book. This is important as it keeps you stamps in a very good condition. Make sure that the albums have hinges as you do not want to place your stamps in a fixed position. You may want and need to classify them in future. By gluing them to the album, you may not only spoil the stamps you may not be able to move them in future.

However, there is one other thing you should note too when getting an album. You have to ensure that the album has hinges. The hinges will help you fix the stamps to the album. It is not advisable for you to paste you stamps with glue. Why? It is because, by gluing you stamps to the album, it makes the stamps have permanent positions and thus, you will not be able to classify your stamps in future.

You should also make sure that once all your stamps are in an album, it is still no considered safe. This is because there are always natural disasters like flood and fire. The safest possible to keep your album is by keeping them in a polythene packet so that they do not get wetted by water.

Stamp collecting can be very simple but it requires a lot pf patience from the collector. It may not be easy collecting vintage stamps and it may be quite difficult for beginners to learn how to grade a stamp. Even some long time stamp enthusiasts get it wrong. So, do not worry about it. You are not alone.
