A Guide For Upgrading Toshiba Notebook Parts

Eventually your computer will probably breakdown or may need some type of repair, or you may just want to upgrade and replace you major components to the latest current technology. This can be done fairly easily with a desktop computer however with a Toshiba laptop it could be a little more challenging. But there are some upgrades that can be done yourself using either Toshiba parts or even generic parts but there are other upgrades that should be left to the professionals.

Lets examine some circumstances to determine if your laptop is completely gone or if you can use Toshiba notebook parts to fix it.

Upgrades

Generally speaking any notebook computer can be upgraded. Look at your owners manual or go online to determine what parts can be replaced. Normally you can upgrade your hard drive and memory but unless you know how to do this you should take it to a professional.

When it comes to memory you are probably better off using genuine Toshiba notebook parts on that but hard drives are made by other manufacturers and you need to check your manual for compatibility.

Notebook screens are not upgradeable. You would need a whole new notebook for that which, for some reason, is really difficult to get some people to understand. Trust me, you cannot upgrade your screen to a 17″ screen in your existing notebook.

Dead notebook

Notebooks now days are much more durable than earlier days although dropping a notebook that is not in a protective case can cause serious damage to the components and circuits. Even a protective case will normally not protect a notebook that is accidentally dropped in water.

Stuff That Can Be Fixed

People are always surprised to hear this but you can fix a defective notebook screen by using Toshiba notebook parts. I am not sure why this always surprises people but a dead screen can be fixed. A bad power supply can also be fixed using Toshiba notebook parts as well as a bad battery.

Any of the peripheral drives like CD-Rom or DVD drive can also be replaced using Toshiba notebook parts. If you see smoke pouring out of the back of your notebook then don’t freak out. Get it to a repair shop because replacing some of the Toshiba notebook parts might save your notebook even after a puff of smoke.
