Vacation 101: Use A New York Zip Code Map
June 10, 2008
Anytime you travel to New York, whether for business or for pleasure, there are a couple things essential to your survival in the big city. Specifically, a decent navigational system and a New York zip code map. New York City can be a nightmare of gridlocks and crowds to new visitors. A simple map can help to change that.
If you’re a spur of the moment type of person, then planning an itinerary ahead of time may not be your cup of tea. For those who like to plan ahead, mapping out places of interest ahead of time is an easy way to pick out the best destinations for your particular brand of fun. You can start mapping them out on a New York zip code map as well as putting the destination addresses into your GPS.
It makes sense, especially on vacation, to save yourself as much time and stress as possible, so mapping things out bit ahead of time is always a good idea. Not only are New York zip code maps less expensive than an electronic GPS, they can’t run out of batteries on you either. Not to mention they’re much easier to use for the technologically challenged.
For a business person, especially in sales, visiting New York clients can be a daunting task. In this case, a New York zip code map could be your best friend. If you’re traveling the whole state, you can use one map, or you can look for individual county maps for more details. Your boss will be impressed with your desire to save the company time (and therefore money) by planning out your destinations ahead of time to be at your most efficient.
A GPS is also a must have for most business people traveling by car. However, when you start to get into more congested areas like New York City, most of the time you can walk or take the subway to get where you’re going much faster than going by car. That’s when a New York zip code map comes in handy. You can use it to navigate the maze of NYC. Sure, you might look like a tourist whipping out a map like that, but then again, so do many people.
A New York zip code map is easy to find online, either for sale or for free. The free maps tend to be low quality though, so your best bet is to buy one for under $20. Not only is it sent to you immediately, but there are no shipping and handling costs because it’s not a physical map, but an electronic one. Any good map will highlight major routes and landmarks and shade different zip code boundaries. Any other map tends to be a bit cluttered with every road, boundary and body of water in existence.
A New York zip code map and a GPS may wind of being your best friend on a trip to the big city. While a GPS definitely have more options, it’s just a tad easier (and cheaper for that matter) to carry around a map. Save yourself time, stress and even money by just putting a little thought into it and planning your trip ahead of time.
