January 31, 2008

As couples get more creative with their wedding, the number of wedding theme ideas have also sprouted out increasingly.

With so many wedding theme ideas around, how does a couple decide on a theme that is perfect for them?

Well, the easiest way to start choosing a wedding theme is to look at what you and your spouse have a passion for. Especially if it is a hobby or sport that both of you enjoy doing together.

Once you have come up with the common hobbies or passions that both of you share, take a look at the feasibility of using that as a wedding theme. In the event that it is not suitable, look at other wedding themes that you like and see if both of you can come to an agreement on that.

Sometimes, one of the couple will take charge of the entire wedding planning while the partner remains passive. If this is the case, it is rather easy to decide on a theme. If both parties are heavily involved in the planning process, then compromise is a must.

There are some basic considerations that you should look out for before deciding on a wedding theme:

1) Cost - Know what your budget is

2) Location - Depending on the chosen theme, where is the most suitable place

3) Size - How big do you want your wedding to be? How many guests?

4) Formal or informal

5) Time - Is the theme realistic for both of you? Do you have the time to plan for the theme?

6) Weather - Is it dependent on the weather?

Some wedding theme ideas that you can choose from:

1) Beach wedding theme

2) Seasonal wedding theme - Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter

3) Garden

4) Black and White wedding theme

5) Hawaiian wedding theme

6) Asian wedding theme

7) Asian

9) Seasonal wedding theme

9) Las Vegas

10 ) Las Vegas wedding theme

Be sure to include a back up plan especially if your wedding theme is dependent on the weather. For example, the beach theme.

It is best to carry your chosen theme all the way through. It is easy to get distracted by the numerous choices out there. Remember, if you change your wedding theme halfway, not only will you delay your plan but you may also incur more costs.

It is possible to get stressed and frustrated when things doesn’t go as planned. However, when all is done on your wedding day, you will be glad to have gone through the effort.
