Why Filipinas Prefer A Foreigner

When a beautiful Filipina gets married, it is more likely because she has found her ideal man, although she may not be totally in love with that man.
Filipinas in general date and marry American or European men who are older than they are by at least ten years. In public places in the Philippines like the shopping mall and night spots, it is not unusual to see middle-aged Caucasian men with a much younger beautiful Filipina. You know that theirs is not a typical tourist-tourist guide relationship in what you can expect to see: an arm wrapped around the woman’s shoulders or her waist, or two hands locked together.
While some of their Filipinos would raise their eyebrows, the majority could not care less. After all May-December affairs and marriages between Filipinas and men from other races have practically become the norm, largely because of the popularity of Internet dating sites.
Why Filipinas marry older foreign men not because they are looking for father figures. Fathers, after all, have a strong presence in Filipino families. The reasons behind this phenomenon can only be attributed to the fact that these women know what they want in a man.
A good gene pool
It is a commonly held belief that Filipinas who bear half breed children (or children with foreign blood) contribute to the improvement of the looks of the family. This belief holds true if you base it on the number of half breed persons who grace the limelight of Philippine show business.
A stable family life
Although many Filipino couples have opted to have their marriages annulled, majority of Filipinos still value an intact family even when the hardships become too unbearable. Older men are generally thought to be more mature than young men. Since most Filipinos marry in their early 20s, the single women who long for the tenderness and understanding of a much older man expand their sights beyond the Philippines.
A comfortable life
Majority of Filipinas grow up with the distinct feeling of shortness, i.e., short on cash, when they are already working. Seeing couples struggle with their finances, and subsequently fighting over money, tips the balance in favor of American and English men who, as a matter of pride and culture, strive to become financially stable before even thinking about marriage. Filipino men, unfortunately, tend to point and shoot: marry early and save later. They are generally lazy too and do not help out in the household chores even when their wives are also working 8 to 5.
A chance to see the world
Traveling overseas especially to America and Europe is not at all easy for majority of Filipinos. It can even be impossible for some. Marriage can be a ticket to see the world.
Still, there are other reasons why Filipinas prefer much older European and American men, even at the cost of an occasional funny look while walking at the mall with their men. Admittedly, there are those who go for May to December affairs of this type because they want to get out of poverty. Interestingly enough, there are men who are actually more than happy to be their ladyloves knight in shining armor.
