Why You Need a University Degree

August 2, 2008

All right, I admit it, I hate my job. I mean really hate it. Not only is it a crappy job that involves long hours and bad shifts, but it doesn’t pay much either. Maybe it is time to think about getting a University degree to open up my options and bring in the big (or at least bigger) money. Even though it’s been many years since High School it should be no problem finding a degree program to fit my needs. It’s never too late right?

The benefits of a University degree program are difficult to measure. Does going to college for a minimum of four years guarantee a gargantuan paycheck? The answer is a plain and simple no. However, by investing in a University degree program, you are increasing your chances for employment by about 90%. Not to mention you open up many other doors regarding higher paying, and more desirable positions.

Employers love to take a glance at your resume and spot that degree achievement. This lets them know that you’re serious about acquiring a decent career, and are able and willing to work hard. After all, if you’ve devoted four or more years to a University degree program, then you’re probably willing to put forth some effort in the workforce.

Not to say that University students are smarter, per say. There are of course many kids who keep going to school so they can have a good time instead of working. Though most of these students will not finish their degrees, having partied themselves into failure or expulsion. Being a full time student takes dedication, something that they reflect when they come to the working world.

Whether you are just leaving high school, or if you’ve already attended a reunion, it is never too early or too late to continue your education. There are probably University degree programs in your area. Start today and soon you will reap the rewards of a better education, more job options and higher salaries. This definitely seems worth the effort.
